The Tennessee Alliance for Local Enterprise, or TALENT, will host the 2nd Annual statewide entrepreneurship conference titled, "Entrepreneurship is the Future of Economic Development," on August 16, 2007 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.
TALENT is a partnership among non-profit, micro-enterprise organizations, local, state and federal government entities, institutions of higher education and the private sector.
(1) Encourage and stimulate entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial innovation by increasing support for micro- and small enterprise among elected officials, economic developers, business owners and the general public;
(2) Enhance entrepreneurial development as an economic development tool along with best practices that can be applied by elected officials, economic developers, business owners and the general public;
(3) Aid in developing/strengthening educational and technical assistance for micro-and small enterprises thereby contributing to jobs creation, with particular attention to underserved areas.
